American Psychiatric Foundation Donor Privacy Policy

At the American Psychiatric Foundation, we respect your privacy. We believe in safeguarding personal information and have created standards to ensure that donor privacy is protected. Your name, address and any other personal data you provide will be used only by the foundation to keep you informed of our activities including our grants, programs, awards, special events, funding needs, and opportunities to volunteer. If at any time you choose not to receive these communications, you may contact the foundation and we will gladly remove your name from our mailing list.

Donor Recognition

We offer periodic recognition to thank our donors for their support. Forms of recognition include publishing donor names in our annual report, donor newsletter (Pathways), annual thank you advertisement in Psych News, signage, and at our special events.

Donors have the right to request that their donation be anonymous and that their name not be used in any of these venues.

Electronic Personal Records

Donor information is maintained in a secured database, and only authorized personnel have access to this information and only for appropriate foundation business purposes.

Mailing Lists

The foundation does not rent, sell, give-away or trade its donor lists or any information contained on those lists. Donor information is used by the foundation for charitable purposes only as described above and will not be used by any entity outside of the foundation.
