APA Lifers

Since 1990, the APA Lifers organization has been dedicated to retaining and serving American Psychiatric Association (APA) members and fellows who have achieved life status. (Life status is reached when the sum of a member's age and years of service to the APA equal 95.)

The mission of the APA Lifers is to support the strategic goals of the APA and to meet the particular needs of APA members who have achieved life member, life fellow or distinguished fellow status.

The Lifers receive no financial support from the APA. Staff support is provided by the American Psychiatric Foundation and funding comes from voluntary annual contributions from members of the Lifers.
