Disaster Recovery Fund for Psychiatrists
The American Psychiatric Association, together
with its philanthropic subsidiary the American Psychiatric
Foundation, has launched the Disaster Recovery Fund for Psychiatrists
to assist psychiatrists and psychiatric residents who have
been adversely affected by disasters such as hurricanes Katrina,
Rita and Wilma.
Psychiatrists and psychiatric residents who
have been affected by disasters are eligible to apply for
grant funding up to $2500. Grants will be made to allow psychiatric
residents to continue their medical training and to help psychiatrists
rebuild their practices in order to serve the mental health
needs of the people in their communities.
