Awards and Fellowships
The foundation administers several annual
award and fellowship programs for psychiatrists and other
health professionals. These programs recognize the exceptional
work of our colleagues and champion learning opportunities
for medical students. Recipients are selected by a distinguished
panel of psychiatrists and community leaders.
Awards for
Advancing Minority Mental Health
The APF Awards for Advancing Minority Mental Health recognize
outstanding efforts to increase public awareness of mental
health care, improve access to mental health services, and
enhance the quality of care for underserved minorities.
Alexander
Gralnick, M.D., Award for Research in Schizophrenia
The Alexander Gralnick, M.D., Award and Lecture for Research
in Schizophrenia annually acknowledges research achievements
in the treatment of schizophrenia.
Jeanne Spurlock,
M.D., Congressional Fellowship
The Jeanne Spurlock, M.D., Congressional Fellowship annually
provides an opportunity for one general psychiatry or child
psychiatry resident to work in a congressional office or committee.
